On April 16th the District will hold a Scout-O-Rama. Troop 707 will be demonstrating fire safety and fire starting methods. This is a recruiting opportunity since the Cub and Webelos Scouts will be attending. Sign up for a time slot to make fire starters for a Cub.

April Backpacking
On April 16th we will be going backpacking to Jones Gap State Park. We will pack in and establish a camp before doing some hiking in the Mountain Bridge area. Spring in the mountains is always a great place to be.

In just 2½ months we will be heading for Summer Camp at Camp Old Indian. Remember to get your medical forms filled out. Think about the Merit Badge classes that you will be taking and the preparations needed. Don’t wait until the last minute.

OA News
Spring Fellowship was a big success. Annual OA dues are due; use the registration forms in your Little Carpenter or online at Akk185.org. Monthly A-Ni-Wa-Ya Chapter meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at Simpsonville United Methodist Church. The Chapter is working on earning the Jimmy Stewart Good Citizenship Award. Look on the web at www.jimmy.org.
