Oct. Climbing

Oct. Climbing
On October 5th we plan to go rock climbing at Crowder’s Mountain. This is a North Carolina State Park with great climbing opportunities. Mr. Herr will review the special knots and belaying skills that we will need during troop meetings in Sept. We will camp at Kings Mountain on Saturday night. This should be a great time for everybody.

Caving

On March 21 we are going caving in Georgia. This trip is will be vertical caving. We will rappel 40\' into the cave, do the exploring then ascend a rope to exit. We haven’t had this much fun in a while.

Summer Camp

Camp packets are ready. It doesn’t seem like time to get ready for camp but registration and deposts are due by Feb. 20th. The camp packet can be downloaded from the downloads section.

Fall Camporee

On October 27th we will be going to Kings Mountain State Park for the Southbounder District Fall Camporee. The program will include orienteering with the Carolina Orienteering Klub.

Catholic Camporee

On October 5th we will leave for Fort Jackson and the third annual Catholic Camporee. These have all been good events, well organized with fun activities. Plan to be attend this year with your whole family.

Family Campout

Camping at SEAS for the first time was great. We attended 5:00 Mass as a troop, ate a very nice meal, thanks in part to Lucas and Mr. Peck, and held our Court of Honor. All of that in one day! We also helped out with the Parish Picnic running the children’s games. As a special event we built a rope bridge for all to cross. What a great weekend!

Caving

On July 28th we will be going caving. We will go to Worley’s cave in Eastern Tennessee. This is an undeveloped cave so should be a lot of fun to explore.

Rafting

In August we will once again do our annual raft trip. The date is not set firmly yet, so if you have a preference for a weekend in August let us know.
